William J. “Chicken” Willhauck

June 21, 1966 – November 15, 2021

William J. “Chicken” Willhauck, age 55 of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 15, 2021 at Fountainview of Monroe after being sick since February of 2020 with lung cancer and seizures.

Born on June 21, 1966, in Toledo, Ohio, Chicken was the son of Martin “Ted” Willhauck and Karen Lather Willhauck Straub. After graduating from Monroe High School, Chicken started working as a glazier at Ohio Plate Glass with his dad. He then started working for several companies in Monroe including Complete Packaging.

Chicken was known for being a very good painter, great mechanic, and he was able to fix anything. He fixed a lawnmower when he was only ten years old. Chicken’s prized possession was his Sheltie, Sue. He also enjoyed being around his many friends. Chicken was an awesome cook and loved cooking for all his friends, especially during the holidays.

To cherish his memory, Chicken leaves his mother, Karen (Dan) Staub; brother, Ryan Willhauck; niece, Pressly Willhauck, along with many other nieces and nephews; and “daughter,” Shawna Coss.

Chicken is preceded in death by his father, Martin “Ted” Willhauck; paternal grandmother, Harriett Willhauck; and maternal grandparents, Walter and Ruth Lather.

Memorial donations in Chicken’s honor may be made to the Monroe County Animal Control or to the family.

In accordance with Chicken’s wishes, cremation will take place with no services at this time. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Rupp Funeral Home. Online condolences to the family may be made through www.ruppfuneralhomeinc.com
