June 13, 1930 – February 15, 2024

 

Stephen A. Juhasz, age 93 of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at the Monroe Springs Nursing Home.

Born June 13, 1930 in Detroit. He was the son of the late John and Anna (Scuyz) Juhasz. Steve graduated from Catholic Central in the first graduating class in 1948. He also completed his associate degree in business management.

Steve made a living working at Ford Motor Company, in the Monroe Plant. He was an Engineer for 30 years before retiring in 1980. Steve also had the honor of serving as the Station Chief at the Lakes of North Fire Department for 18 years. In his free time, Steve could be found in his garden or making ceramics.

Steve met and married the love of his life: Mary Lehr on June 10, 1950, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. They raised a family of four children and spent over 57 wonderful years together before Mary sadly passed away in 2007. Later in his golden years, Steve met Janette “Nettie” Fling where they shared a cherished 15 years together.

Steve was a long-time member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Usher’s Club, as well as the Knights of Columbus Council of Monroe. He also spent his time doing volunteer work at the American Red Cross as an instructor.

Beloved father of John (Linda) Juhasz, Mark (Elayn) Juhasz, and Cheryl Tibai. Steve will also be deeply missed by his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by wife, Mary; daughter, Sr. Carol Juhasz; son in law, Allen Tibai; and seventeen siblings.

Everyone is invited to a visitation on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Rupp Funeral Home from 3 to 8 pm. A rosary service will be on Sunday at 7 pm. The funeral service is on Monday, February 19, 2024, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Steve will lie instate at 10 am with mass at 11 am. Officiating is Fr. Kishore Babu Battu. Burial will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made in honor of Steve are suggested to the IHM Retirement Fund.
