Sherri Lynn Grames, age 56 of Newport, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at ProMedica Regional Hospital of Monroe.

Born May 30, 1964 in Monroe. She was one of three daughters of the late Vernon and Ida (Baker) Scheich. Sherri graduated from Monroe High School. She worked for McLouth Steele for many years and went on to work for Georgia Pacific before having to medically retire.

Sherri met the love of her life: Stan Grames and the two were married on May 28,2004. She loved to spend time with her family, but nothing was more precious to her than the time she spent with her grandchildren. Sherri also loved to travel.

Sherri was an outgoing, caring, friendly and strong-willed woman. She loved all animals but was especially fond of white tigers. In her spare time, she would often volunteer at her grandchildren’s school. Sherri was also an avid bingo player and she loved to do puzzles.

Beloved wife of Stan Grames. Loving mother of Michael Carr of Monroe, Christopher Grames of Las Vegas, NV, Michelle Stein of Monroe, and Melody Grames of Columbus, OH. Dearest grandmother of Hailie Swisher and Emma Stein. Dear sister of Verna Jean (Ben) Wood and Julie (Mark) Gooden.

In addition to her parents, Sherri is preceded in death by a nephew: Brandon Wood.

Everyone is invited to a visitation on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Rupp Funeral Home from 1:00 to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will take place on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Rupp Funeral Home starting at 1:00 pm. Officiating is Rev. Larry Detruf.
