Richard D. Trouten

February 2, 1938 - March 18, 2024

 

Richard “Dick” Douglas Trouten, 86, of LaSalle, MI, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2024, at Canal Pointe Nursing Home in Akron, Ohio.

Rich was born on February 2, 1938, in LaSalle to the late Frank Irvin Trouten and Lucille Navarre. Richard was one of four children they had together. He attended Mason High School. He later went on to serve his country in the US Army.

He married the love of his life, Rosella Mexicotte. They married one another on July 24, 1961, in Monroe. He and Rosella started a family and raised four sons and one daughter together.

Following his discharge, Richard began driving trucks; he was an independent owner operator for 50 years, 2 years after he retired, in 2003, Richard managed a Family Dollar.

Outside of working, he volunteered with the American Red Cross. He even helped out in the Blizzard of 1978 here in Michigan.

Sadly, his wis wife, Rosella, preceded him in death. In addition to her, he is also preceded by his 3 brothers, Dave, Carl, and Irvin Trouten.

He leaves behind many who were lucky to know him. Richard is survived by children; Richard (Melissa) Trouten of LaSalle, Michigan, Roger (Dawn) Trouten of Tennessee, and Beverly (Walter) Keck of Monroe, and David Trouten of Monroe, Michigan, 9 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Rupp Funeral Home, at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
