Nancy Ann Michaels, age 79 of Monroe, passed away the evening of Monday September 19, 2022 at Regency Hospital in Sylvania, OH.

Nancy was born December 19, 1942 in South Rockwood, MI to Frederick A. and Charlotte (Elliott) Kemp. She worked for Airport Schools as a secretary for many years, followed by MCOP, and then she began her work with the county of Monroe. Nancy was a secretary for Monroe County Animal Control and then went on to become an Animal Control Officer. She was then transferred to Michigan Works where she retired as a clerk.

Nancy enjoyed crafts of all kinds. She taught ceramics for many years through 4H, which she was extremely involved with. She served as Superintendent in the Cow Barn from the time her children were young to just a few years ago. Nancy also was involved with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

To cherish her memory, Nancy leaves her loving daughter, Brenda Lewis; lots of good friends; and tons of farm animals whom she cared for deeply.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her son Allen Scott Michaels; and brothers Frederick H. and Robert L. Kemp.

Family and friends may visit from 3-8pm on Thursday September 22, 2022 at Rupp Funeral Home, where a funeral service celebrating Nancy’s life will be held on Friday September 23, 2022 at 12:30pm. Rev. Cathy Maxwell will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at Riverside Cemetery, South Rockwood, MI.
