Mary A. Moore, age 92 of Monroe, passed away the morning of Saturday August 29, 2020 at home under the care of hospice.

Family and friends may gather on Saturday September 12 from 2-530pm at Rupp Funeral Home, where a memorial service celebrating Mary’s life will be held at the conclusion of the gathering. Rev. Lee Cullen, Pastor of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial of Mary’s ashes will occur at a later date at Gethsemane Cemetery.

Mary was born April 29, 1928 in Milan, Michigan. She was the daughter of Andrew and Marie (Fojtik) Horak. She married Eugene R. Moore on May 24, 1947 in Monroe. He preceded her in death on June 28, 1989. Mary was employed by the Weiss Factory, Northside Consolidated, Park N Snack and Milan Plastics retiring in 1979. She was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Aide. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, gardening, and reading.

Surviving are her children: Sons: Randel (Sandy) Moore of Iron Mountain and Rene (Ann) Moore of Monroe, Daughters: Robbin (Ted) Zeitz of Monroe and Roxanne Moore of Toledo, Ohio; Daughter-in-law Kay Moore of Monroe; Grandchildren; Shane Moore, Abigail Moore, Matthew Moore, Sarah (Brandon) Dukes, Chad (Amy Jo) Zeitz, Josh (Sharon) Zeitz, Jacob (Heidi) Zeitz, Dallas Colpaert, Denver (Amy) Colpaert, Stephanie Moore, and Scott Moore; and seven Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Albert Horak, sisters Rose Walters and Helen Chytil, son Raymond Moore, and son-in-law Dan VanFleet.
