Marie J. Trouten
March 31, 1921 – November 10, 2021
Marie Josephine Trouten, age 100 of Monroe, passed away on November 10, 2021 from complications of COVID at Wellsprings Lutheran Services in Monroe.
Born on March 31, 1921, in Olean, New York, Marie was the daughter of the late Paul and Josephine (Druar) Bridon. Marie married the love of her life, Oliver D. Trouten, on November 17, 1943 in Buffalo, New York. They raised a family of six children and spent over 63 wonderful years together before Oliver’s passing in 2006.
Marie was a lifetime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She was a member of the Altar Society there and volunteered in many activities including in the cafeteria. Marie was a voracious reader. She also enjoyed collecting stamps, cooking, traveling anywhere the car could take her, and in her opinion, there was nothing better than a martini.
To cherish her memory, Marie leaves her children: W. Paul (Vickie) Trouten, Nancy (Harold) Sauer, Katheryn (David, deceased) Fraser, James (Janice, deceased) Trouten, and Joseph (Nicole) Trouten; 18 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Dorothy Trouten.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marie is preceded in death by her son, Dennis Trouten. Marie was proud to say that she was the oldest living member of the Trouten and Bridon family.
There will be a funeral mass on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Marie will lie in-state at 9:00 am with a funeral mass beginning at 10:00 am. Officiating will be Fr. David Burgard. Burial will follow at LaSalle Township Cemetery.
