Joseph John Werstein, age 68 of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 17, 2021 at his home.

Born October 13, 1952 in Monroe. He was the son of the late Joseph Sr. and Evelyn Werstein. Joe graduated from Airport High School in Carleton.

Joe started his working career at Ford Motor Company. He was a laborer there for close to 30 years before retiring. Joe watched certain shows he enjoyed as well as listening to Oral Roberts sermons, who was a Christian Televangelist.

Joe was a caretaker to his mother. He liked all animals but loved his cats. Most importantly he will be remembered as a great brother and best friend.

Beloved son of Evelyn Werstein. Loving brother of Mark Werstein. Dear uncle of Ricky Strubb. Joe was preceded in death by his father: Joseph Sr. Werstein; sister: Evelyn Werstein; and niece: Sheila Strubb.

Everyone is invited to a graveside service that will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, May 21, 2021 at St. Joseph Cemetery of Monroe. Officiating is Rev. Larry Detruf. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Rupp Funeral Home.
