Gloria Jean Stover

Gloria Jean Stover, age 81, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, May 28, 2023.
Born July 15, 1941 in Kayford, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Mable (Griffith) Frye. Gloria attended and graduated from East Bank High School with the class of 1959. During her school years, she met Benjamin Stover and they eventually married upon his return from the military. Together they raised two sons and spent more than fifty loving years together.
Gloria had many Jobs over the years including running a switchboard as a telephone operator, a real estate agent, and being an aide on the school bus for the handicapped. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking and cooking for as many as would come, and crafting.
Gloria was an amazing person. She loved her family and always made sure their needs were met. She was caretaker for many and will be truly missed by all that knew her.
To cherish her memory, Gloria leaves two sons: David (Pamela) Stover and Greg (Shelley) Stover, a brother, Earl (Gail) Frye; a sister, Carolyn Frye; and three grandchildren: Sara (Joe) Stover, Kyle Stover, and Christopher Stover.
Gloria is preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin and her parents, Hubert, and Mable Frye.
Family and friends may visit on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Rupp Funeral Home from 11:30 am until 2:30 pm. A funeral service in her honor will begin at 2:30 pm with Rev. Larry Detruf officiating.
