Febion L. Huggins Sr.

August 29, 1955 – June 24, 2021

Febion Lamar Huggins Sr., age 65 of Monroe, passed away the morning of Thursday, June 24, 2021 at the ProMedica Toledo Regional Hospital.

Born August 29, 1955 in McCrory, Arkansas. He was one of eight children of the late Cornelius and Everlean (Nance) Huggins. His family moved up from the south when he was an infant. He was baptized at the Life of Light Temple in Detroit. He then graduated from Detroit’s Western High School.

Febion met and married the love of his life: Debra Lynn Mathews. They raised a family of four children and spent over 20 years together before Debra’s passing in 2006. Febion worked various jobs to support and take care of the family.

In his free time, Febion liked watching his Western Shows and movies. He was a good cook but always enjoyed going out to eat. Most importantly, he liked spending his quality time with his family and friends.  Febion was always there for his children. He will be known as being a great dad who taught them many lessons in life.  When his kids were younger, he had let them steer his old Cadillac car down the road- a memory they will hold dear of dad.

Beloved father of Darnell O’Bryant, Nicole Huggins, Matthew Huggins, and Febion Huggins Jr. Loving brother of Linda Williams and Wanda Russell.

In addition to his parents, Febion was preceded in death by his wife: Debra Lynn Mathews Huggins; daughter: Lauren Huggins, and siblings: Ethel Mae Kendrick, Rovna Cowans, Ester West, Luella Brown, and Stevie Huggins.
