Edward L. Ellison

Edward Lee Ellison, age 76 of Temperance, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022, at the ProMedica Regional Hospital of Toledo, Ohio.

Born March 18, 1945, in Kankakee, Illinois. He was one of three boys of the late Wade and Gladys (Southern) Ellison. Ed graduated from Jefferson High School in 1964. He later continued his education at Ferris State University where he received his associates degree in business.

Edward met and married the love of his life: Joyce Philippart on July 9, 1966, at the Faith Lutheran Church of Monroe. They enjoyed camping in their motor home to many different places. Their favorite however, was traveling to Myrtle Beach, SC. They raised a family of two children and spent over 55 wonderful years together.

Ed started working at Detroit Tube Products for ten plus years. He then went to work at General Motors Automotive Company at their Toledo Plant. He was a Hi-Lo Operator for over 30 years before retiring.

Ed was a lifelong member of the Missionary Baptist Church of Monroe. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Fraternity. In his free time, he loved to play a game of golf and watching the Michigan Wolverines.

Beloved husband of Joyce Ellison. Loving father of Aimee Ellison and Edward (Kareyann) Ellison II. Dearest grandfather of Jordan and Wyatt Ellison. Dear brother of Wade (Phyllis) Ellison and Larry Ellison. Ed was preceded in death by parents: Wade and Gladys Ellison.

Memorial donations in honor of Ed are suggested to the Michigan Humane Society of Monroe.
