Earl W. Wiseman
April 2, 1937 – September 10, 2022
Earl Willard Wiseman, age 85 of Carleton, passed away the morning of Saturday, September 10, 2022 at home, surrounded by family.
Born April 2, 1937 in Monroe, he was the son of the late Edward and Florence (LaFeve) Wiseman. After graduating from Carleton Airport High School, Earl served his country in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963. Upon returning home from the Army, Earl began his 43-year career at Ford Motor Company in Ypsilanti. He then met and married the love of his life, Germaine “Gerry” Glandenes, in 1966. They raised a family of three children and spent over 56 wonderful years together.
Earl was a member of St. Patrick Church in Carleton, Flat Rock Elks Lodge #1731, American Legion in Lewiston, MI, as well as the Moose Lodge in Lewiston. In his spare time, Earl was an avid fan of NASCAR, U of M Football, and the Detroit Red Wings. He enjoyed hunting and especially enjoyed his time with his wife and family at their cabin in Lewiston, MI.
To cherish his memory, Earl leaves his loving wife, Gerry; children: Gregory (Annett) Savage, Carla Schock, and Shelly Martin; grandchildren: Andra (Luke) Baker, Jenna (Vasco) Tchakarov, Kalyn Schock, Jesse (Kim) Martin, Donny Martin, Brandon (Kayla) Savage, and Chelsea (Chris) Forehand; 15 great grandchildren; and a sibling, Betty Hanson.
In addition to his parents, Earl is preceded in death by a grandson, Justin Martin; two great grandchildren: Gary Martin, Jr. and Mazin Savage; and two siblings: Earlene Ferguson and Dorothy Mac Pherson.
Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Rupp Funeral Home from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Divine Grace Parish - Carleton. Earl will lie instate at 10:00 am with a funeral mass beginning at 11:00 am. Officiating is Fr. Michael Woroniewicz. Burial, along with military honors performed under the auspice of VFW Post 4093, will immediately follow at St. Patrick Cemetery.
