David Courtney Simard, age 54, passed away peacefully in his home of Glioblastoma surrounded by his family Saturday, August 21, 2021.

Born in Salem, MA. August 16, 1967, he attended Landmark School in Beverly Farms MA. David moved to Monroe, Michigan to which he lived the last 27 years. He loved bonfires, cookouts and being with those he loved. He was an avid wood worker and artist leaving many pieces for us to enjoy.

He his survived by his life long partner of 28 years Donna Pope, sister Kerry Lee (Roland) Noel, sister in law Judy Pope Hamrick. Nieces Lory (Richard) Nickerson, Teri Lynn Hamrick and Bobbi Jo Hamrick. Great nieces Olivia Nickerson, and Emmalynn Stief. Great nephews Brayden Lyons and Levi Brewer and his 4 feline companions, Dathan, Tavora, Shran and Tuvok.

David was preceded in death by his NaNa and Pepeir Simard, father Ronald E Simard, father and mother in law Bob and Ruby (McDaniel) Pope, brother in law Homer R Hamrick, his great niece Kailyn Hope Hamrick-Lyons and a feline companion which he dearly loved K'Lar.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at his home. Family asks that donations be made to the donors choice.
