Betty A. Baer, age 97 of Monroe, passed away the afternoon of Sunday May 3, 2020 at Brookdale Senior Living.

Betty was born May 29, 1922 in Buffalo, NY to the late Elmer and Margaret (Kramer) Limburg. She married the love of her life, John R. Baer, on October 21, 1950 in Buffalo, NY. Sadly, John predeceased Betty on August 18, 2008.

Betty loved to knit. She also loved to crotchet and do many types of arts and crafts. She also loved to spend time with her family and friends.

To cherish her memory, Betty leaves two sons: John “Rick” Baer of Carleton, MI and Jeffrey (Christine) Baer of Buffalo, NY; two grandchildren: Jennifer (Brian) Nigro of Buffalo, NY and Christopher (Tania) Baer of Middleport, NY; and six great grandchildren: Jerry Beltram, Mackenzie Baer, Gabriel Baer, Cole Nigro, Cameron Nigro, and Ronin Baer.

In accordance with Betty's wishes, cremation will occur and a private memorial gathering with a service celebrating her life will be held. Betty's ashes will be laid to rest at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI.
