Anne Goltowski, age 92 of Monroe, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Fountainview of Monroe.

Born on January 28, 1930 in Detroit, Anne was the daughter of the late Mike and Betty (Martinez) Sarkesian. As a young lady, Anne lived in Detroit and served the community at the Detroit Rescue Mission. She began teaching herself piano at a young age. Anne met the love of her life, Sylvester Goltowski, and they married on July 5, 1955. Together they would raise a family of six.

Anne and Sylvester enjoyed each other’s company. She enjoyed long drives with her husband, sightseeing through Michigan and discovering new places together. They were always getting lost looking for that one restaurant.

Anne was very involved in church activities, attending women’s retreats, and bible study groups. She attended Monroe Alliance Church where she played piano. One of her favorite places to visit was Maranatha Camp and Retreat Center on Lake Michigan. She enjoyed traveling to Lake Michigan and to their cottage up north on Lake Camelot.

She loved her big family and looked forward to cooking holiday meals, having everyone gather together. Anne was very grateful for her family and cherished her friendships she made.

To cherish her memory, Anne leaves behind her five children, Vonda (Terry) Smith, Art (Cindy) Goltowski, Rick (Doreen) Goltowski, Bill (Sue) Goltowski, and John (LaSondra) Goltowski; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren.

Along with her husband and parents, Anne is preceded in death by a son, Mark; two grandchildren, Amber Collingsworth and Coral Paredes; three siblings, Mike Sarkesian, George Sarkesian, and Chris Banckney.

Family and friends may visit, Monday, January 30, 2023 from 2PM to 7PM at Rupp Funeral Home. A funeral service for Anne will be held the following day, Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at the funeral home beginning at 11AM with Pastor Mark Blake officiating. Visitation will begin Tuesday at 10am until the time of service. Anne will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Anne’s memory are suggested to the Wounded Warriors Project.
