Verland A. Loveland
December 30, 1931 – January 1, 2022
Verland Arthur Loveland, age 90 of Monroe, passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 1, 2022, at the Lodge of Taylor Assisted Living.
Born December 30, 1931, in Ann Arbor, MI. He was one of twelve children of the late Ralph and Evelyn (Vail) Loveland. Verland proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1947 to 1958. He was a noble Korean War veteran, who then went back into the service from 1961 to 1964.
Verland made his living, working as a maintenance supervisor at Monroe Public Schools for 20 years before retiring in 1989. Verland was a past member of Kiwanis International. He even helped build the Monroe Rod and Gun Club. He was also a member of the American Legion and the VFW Post in Ann Arbor. Verland was proud of his heritage, being a part of the German Schwaben Club and the German Club of Ann Arbor.
Verland was a long-time farmer and he also enjoyed golfing and bowling.
Verland leaves his siblings: Shirley Buckingham, Donald (Jean) Loveland, Allen Loveland, Patricia Katanski, Judy (Roy) Gephart, Linda Bottom, and Marilyn (Chad) Norton; eight stepchildren; grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Verland is preceded in death by three wives, and siblings: Ralph Loveland, Helen Lajiness, Bette Bezeau, and Jack Loveland.
