Todd A. Warthen
September 21, 1980 – December 15, 2024
Todd Anthony Warthen, age 44 of Monroe, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the Ann Arbor VA Hospital.
Born September 21, 1980, in Monroe. He was the son of the late Richard and Gloria (Abbott) Warthen. Todd graduated from Airport High School in 1999. It was there where he met his high school sweetheart: Krystal Bordine They got married on December 30, 1999, in Monroe. They raised a family of five children and spent over 14 years together.
After high school, he proudly enlisted in the United States Navy from 1999 to 2003. Todd served war time in Afghanistan and Iraq, earning a bronze star for his achievements.
After the Navy, he returned home and continued his education at Lansing Community College. Todd then transferred to Great Lakes Christian Community College, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Christian Counseling and Theology.
Todd was a member of the VFW Post 1138 of Monroe. He’ll be remembered for being a Man of God. Todd was a fighter and fought to the end. He will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of his loved ones.
Beloved father of Anthony, Ethan, Liberty, Lily, and Elaina Warthen. Loving brother of Ricky Warthen, Sarah (Brittany) Sprinkles, and Christina Barnes. Also survived by former spouse: Krystal Warthen and mother-in-law: Kathy Bordine.
In addition to his parents, Todd was preceded in death by brother: Richard Warthen Jr., and grandmother: Constance Abbott.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Rupp Funeral Home from 10 am to 3 pm. The funeral service will begin at 3 pm. Officiating is Dan Cameron. Burial will follow to Oak Ridge Cemetery, where an Honor Guard service will be held by the VFW Post 1138 of Monroe.
