Thomas Keith Sperling, age 80 of Carleton, passed away peacefully with family by his side on September 27, 2023, at his home under hospice care.

Born January 13, 1943, in Trenton. He was the son of the late Dewey and Mary (Webster) Sperling. After high school, Tom met and married Theresa A. Faunce on November 4, 1966. Together they raised 12 stepchildren.

Tom proudly served in the United States Marine Corp and was stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC and was employed at the Trenton Chrysler Engine Plant as a tool and die skilled tradesman.

Beloved brother of Joyce Lange-Brown of Florida. Loving stepfather of Thomas Faunce, Frank Faunce, Curt Faunce, Robert Faunce, Theresa Hohner, Claire Faunce, Bernadette Faunce, and Mary Lee. Dearest grandfather of many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by wife: Theresa; brother: Leonard; and stepchildren: Russell, Stephen, and Dennis Faunce and Catherine Buchanan.

Everyone is invited to a visitation on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Rupp Funeral Home from 1 to 6 pm. A funeral service and VFW honor guard service under the auspice of VFW Post 1138 of Monroe will conclude the viewing starting at 6 pm. Officiating is stepson: Pastor Curt Faunce. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place following services.
