Thomas Lincoln Apperson, age 72 of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly the evening of Saturday May 8, 2021 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.

Thomas was born February 7, 1949 in Philippi, WV to the late Alvin Darius and Evelyn Grace (Nester) Apperson. He graduated from Flat Rock High School before serving his country proudly in the United States Army from June of 1968 – June of 1971. Upon being honorably discharged and returning to civilian life, Thomas began a long career as a truck driver, hauling medium heavy-duty trucks for General Motors. After his retirement Thomas enjoyed spending time with family and friends, particularly his cherished grandchildren. He also enjoyed walking around flea markets, bowling and golfing. Wherever Thomas was he would always start up conversations. He didn’t know a stranger.
