Theresa Marie Cullen, age 69 of Monroe, passed away peacefully at home with loved ones by her side, on November 13, 2023, after a year long battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Born February 12, 1954, in Monroe. She was the daughter of the late William and Dora (Beaubien) Hause. Theresa graduated from Airport High School in 1972, where she was the Homecoming Queen and a varsity cheerleader. She then continued her education at Monroe Community College.

Theresa married her high school sweetheart, John Cullen, on March 21, 1980, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Carleton. She was a loving homemaker to her husband and three children. Theresa worked at Detroit Stoker in Monroe for more than 10 years until the birth of her first child. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and worked many hours volunteering at St. Mary Catholic Central High School (SMCC). Theresa also volunteered her time at Mercy Children’s Hospital Hippotherapy Program, helping children with special needs receive therapeutic horse riding.

In her free time, Theresa loved going up north to the family cabin at Canada Creek Ranch which she affectionately referred to as her “happy place.” While at home, she enjoyed playing cards with her friends in Card Club and having dinner with the Alum Mums. Theresa enjoyed traveling and always looked forward to vacationing with the Hecks. Most importantly, Theresa loved spending quality time with family. She dedicated herself to her family, and her love and support were unwavering. She created a warm and nurturing home filled with fun, love, and delicious meals that brought everyone together. She knew how to make everyone feel special and cared for. She will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of her loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of love, gratitude, and kindness that will continue to touch the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Beloved wife of John Cullen. Loving mother of Lindsay (Ben) LaForce, Lauren (Henry Jared) Werner, and Matthew Cullen. Dearest grandmother of Dillon, Eliette, Lillian, & Luke LaForce, and Henry & Jack Werner. Dear sister of Michael Hause, Floyd (Linda) Hause, Ken (Cindy) Hause, and Dennis (Joyce) Hause.

In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by sister-in-law: Ann Hause.

Everyone is invited to a visitation on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Rupp Funeral Home from 3 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be on Friday, November 17, 2023, at Rupp Funeral Home starting at 11 am. Officiating is Deacon Mike Stewart. A private burial will follow to Michigan Memorial Park, Flat Rock.
