Teddy Allen Brooks, age 59 of Monroe, passed away the morning of Thursday, December 23, 2021, at the ProMedica Regional Hospital of Monroe.

Born January 28, 1962, in Monroe. He was one of three sons of Wintford E. Brooks Sr. and the late Mary Pauline Brooks. Teddy was baptized as a baby at the Frenchtown Missionary Baptist Church of Monroe. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1980. After graduating he traveled down to Tazewell Tennessee for work.

Teddy then proudly served his country in the United States Army in 1984 before having to go on a medical leave. He later became a member of the VFW Post 1138 of Monroe. Teddy worked at Sterling State Park for many years as a handy man.

In his free time, he liked to ride his bicycle to get around. He also enjoyed going to any flee markets or auctions in the area. Most importantly, he loved his family-especially his nieces and nephews. He was always there playing with the kids, having a good time. Teddy will be deeply missed by his loved ones.

Beloved son of Wintford E. Brooks Sr. Loving brother of Wintford E. Brooks Jr. and Steven R. (Karen) Brooks. Dearest uncle of Stephanie (Zachary) Wade, Steven Brooks Jr., Kevin Brooks, Samantha Brooks, and Felicia Brooks. Great uncle to many great nieces and nephews. Teddy was preceded in death by his mother: Mary Pauline Brooks.

In accordance with Teddy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The Brooks family will have a public memorial gathering at a later date. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Rupp Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent to www.ruppfuneralhomeinc.com
