Suzanne Bondie, age 86 of Monroe, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on Friday, December 27, 2024, at home under hospice care.

Born August 22, 1938, in Northville, Michigan.  She was the daughter of the late Austin and Barbara (Bake) Stecker. Suzanne graduated from Plymouth High School and later continued her education in college. Suzanne worked as an accountant for over 30 years.

Suzanne was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monroe. She was also a member of the Monroe Quilt Guild. Suzanne was very creative, and her life was all about quilting. She made countless quilts for loved ones as gifts as well as for donation to anyone in need. In her younger years, she used to teach anyone willing to learn and participated in Quilting Retreats. She also won many ribbons and trophies for the beautiful quilts that she made.

Most importantly, she enjoyed spending quality time with her family. Suzanne will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of her loved ones. 

Beloved mother of Kit (David) Nielsen, Lincoln Caplin, Clay Caplin, Brett Caplin, and Sarah (Becket) Mahnke. Loving grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents and sister: Julie Sowinski.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Everyone is invited to a memorial gathering on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. A Celebration of Life service will take place at 6:00 pm to conclude the night.
