Sue Alice Kreps, age 62 of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 14, 2020 at ProMedica Hospital of Toledo, OH.

Born August 7, 1958 in Monroe to the late Stanley and Virginia (Brett) Held. Shortly after birth, Sue was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Maybee.

In 1976, she graduated from Michigan Lutheran Seminary in Saginaw, MI. She then took classes and graduated from Monroe Community College with an Associate Degree in accounting.

Sue worked as a Payroll Clerk and in Human Resources at Mercy Memorial Hospital for 37 years. She was then employed at the Immaculate Heart of Mary for two years before retiring in 2018.

She met and married the love of her life, Stephen Kreps, on September 13, 1986 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Monroe. The two of them would go on to spend 34 loving years together before Sue's passing.

In Sue’s free time, she used to look after and visit her Aunt Donna and mother-in-law: Martha Waide. She was an avid animal lover and spoiled her cats and dogs on occasion. She enjoyed reading and liked to be out in nature by taking walks in the park by the river.

Beloved wife of Stephen Kreps of Monroe. Loving sister of Brett Held of Toledo. Dearest niece of Donna Brett of Monroe. Also survived by cousins, Rebecca Brett of Monroe, and Gerald Dallman of Newport.

Along with her parents, Sue is preceded in death by her uncle and aunt: Herman and Dora Brett of Monroe and aunt: Sonya Brett of Sterling Heights, MI.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Rupp Funeral Home. In accordance with Sue's wishes cremation has taken place with no services at this time. A memorial gathering for close friends and family will take place in the spring of 2021.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Sue can be made to the American Liver Foundation or a charity they feel passionately about.
