Stella Theresa Tucker, age 74 of Maybee, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 25, 2023, at her home under hospice care.

Born May 2, 1949, in Detroit. She was the daughter of the late Anna Marie (Etlinger) Brown. Stella graduated from St. Gabriel High School in Detroit in 1967.

Stella met and married the love of her life: James Tucker on September 7, 1968, in Detroit. She was a loving homemaker to her husband and two children. They spent over 22 wonderful years together before James sadly passed in 1990. 

Stella worked for Monroe Public Schools for 30 years, she retired in 2017 from Monroe High School. 

Stella was a long-time member at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. In her free time, she was an avid book reader, enjoyed sewing, and having her cup of coffee on the front porch. Stella was a good cook and will be forever known for her famous coconut cream pies. She was an animal lover and enjoyed being on the farm. 

Most importantly, Stella spent her quality time with her family but especially her grandchildren. They were her world to spoil and cherish. Stella will be deeply missed by all who knew her. 

Beloved mother of Laura (John) Bonam and Brian Tucker, as well as daughter-in-law: Amy Tucker. Loving grandmother of Amanda Stokes, James Bonam, Cheyenne (Mitchell) Gerwin, Mikayla (Jordan Grigsby) Tucker, Sierra (Joshua) Higdon, Paige Bonam, Riley Tucker, and Chase Tucker. Great grandma of Georgia Gerwin, Lainey Gerwin, and Stella Higdon. 

Stella was preceded in death by husband: James Tucker; and mother: Anna Marie Brown. 

Everyone is invited to a visitation on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Rupp Funeral Home from 1 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church of Monroe. She will lie instate at 10 am with the service at 11 am. Officiating is Pastor Lee Cullen. Burial will follow to Gethsemane Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Stella are suggested to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church.
