She was instrumental in the establishment of a Trust that would be in place for that purpose. Her ability to see the broader needs, not only of her religious community, but of the civic community, led to her appointment to a variety of positions including that of Commissioner to the Michigan Construction safety Standard Commission by then Governor, William G. Milliken in 1974. She served on that commission for 22 years.
She received a number of awards throughout her career including, but not limited to:the Groundwork Discipleship Award, the Claude Pepper Award for her service to the elderly, and the Edward McCardle Memorial Tribute Award for exceptional service in the legal profession.
For Sr. Ann, however, the greatest awards were those that recognized her 72 years of consecrated life as a woman religious.
