Shelby Jean Grigsby Puckett born August 1, 1937 departed this life on Monday May 6, 2024 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center being 86-years old. Shelby Jean was born in Perry County, Kentucky the daughter of the late Dewey Earl Stacy and the late Pearlie King Stacy. Other than her parents, Shelby Jean was also preceded in death by her step-mother, Nancy Stacy; husband of 47-years and father of her children, Arlie Grigsby; husband, Eugene Puckett; daughter, Patricia Drummonds; son-in-law, Ricky Drummonds; grandson, Richard Drummonds; four brothers and three sisters.
Shelby Jean married the love of her life Arlie Grigsby on September 10, 1955. They were blessed with four beautiful children, ten grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. Shelby Jean loved going to church, listening to gospel music and spending time with her family. She along with her husband were the owners of Grigsby Roller Rink and Grigsby Grocery Store at Jeff, Kentucky. She loved diet coke, reese cups, chicken and onion rings. Some of her favorite hobbies throughout her life are bowling, crafting, watching game show network, The Waltons, and Little House on the Prairie.
Shelby Jean Grigsby Puckett leaves the following relatives to cherish her memory: daughter, Wilma Rice & Frank of Viper; sons, Earl Douglas Grigsby & Jennifer of Viper and Gary Dewayne Grigsby & Kim of Georgetown, KY; grandchildren, Tammy Rivera & Mike, Wanda Lawson, Jason Rice, Brandon Rice & Dee, April Gay & Josh, Shawn Grigsby & Patty, Arron Grigsby, Zach Grigsby & Jessica, Ryan Grigsby & Lauren, Jessica Smith & Jamie, and Alexis Ritchie; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Jacob, Maddison, Julie, Ethan, Audrey, Jayda, Baylee, Waylon, Everlee, Easton, Caleb, and Levi; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends survive.
Visitation for Shelby Jean Grigsby Puckett will be held on Thursday May 9, 2024 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. There will be a Graveside Service on Saturday May 11, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at The Rath Cemetery located in Monroe, Michigan.
