Sheila L. (Raymer) Ashley
September 12, 1956 – January 2, 2026
Sheila Lyn (Raymer) Ashley, age 69 of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 2, 2026, at the Hickory Ridge of Temperance.
Born September 12, 1956, in Ann Arbor, MI. She was the daughter of the late Milton and Eunice Faye (Sanders) Sundberg.
After school, she met and married her first husband, Nathaneil Raymer on July 26th, 1974. Together they raised their family of two sons. Sadly after 32 years, Nathaneil passed away in 2006.
Sheila worked at Meijer in Monroe as a greeter for about 15 years. She enjoyed her job for the socialization and meeting new people. In her younger years, she used to play in a bowling league, She also enjoyed talking on the CB radio with her husband their handles were Seven Crown and Red Cap, respectively. In her free time, she liked playing Bingo and Yahtzee as well as coloring for fun. Sheila collected Campbell Soup items and always had either Heartland or Everyone Loves Raymond playing on her TV.
Sheila will be remembered for her feisty personality, good heart, and for her fondness for butterflies. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
To cherish her memory, Sheila leaves behind her sons, Nathaniel (Rosa) Raymer and Jeffery Raymer; grandchildren, Brianna (Scott) Adams, Natasha (Isom) Daniels, Allissa (Travis) Daniels, Hayley Raymer, and Hannah Raymer; great grandchildren, Brayden, Bentley, Hanley, Isom Jr., and Harper; siblings, Alice (Terry) Burt and Roger Bunch; and sister-in-law, Sharon Raymer, who was more of a sister to her over the last 50 years.
In addition to her parents, Sheila was preceded in death by first husband, Nathaneil Raymer; siblings, Sandra Bashaw, Judy Hartle, Cindy Sundberg, Robert “Blub” Sundberg, and William Bunch as well as her cousin, Janet Honaker, who she was very close to.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Rupp Funeral Home on Tuesday January 13th from 10 am until the time of service at 4 pm. Officiating is Pastor Lyle Place. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will conclude services. Come as you are, dress casual in your everyday clothes.
