Sharon N. Macut
November 10, 1951 - December 29, 2024
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the death of our beloved sister, aunt and friend, Sharon Macut, on December 29th, 2024, at the age of 73.
Born in Toledo, Ohio, to Nick and Nancy Macut on November 10th, 1951, Sharon graduated from Bedford High School and Barry University before pursuing a career in journalism; later retiring in Lago Vista, Texas. Never one to sit still, though, Sharon was a ceaseless traveler and gourmand whose passions took her around the world, across six continents, with her many friends and loved ones in tow.
Beyond her wanderlust, Sharon was a pillar of her community, dedicating her time to the Spanish club, volunteering at the library, the Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge, and the school advisory board, all while making time for line dancing. She uplifted all with her enormity of generosity and spirit.
Boundless in her curiosity, creativity and kindness, Sharon’s towering memory is her final gift to all those she loved, and our lives are forever richer for it. She more than taught, she nourished; she more than explored, she soared. Sharon sought the world, and in all her many wonderful ways, left it a better place. She will be deeply missed.
Sharon is preceded in her passing by her beloved husband, Earl. She is survived by her sisters, Sally, Sandy, Cindy Bryan and her husband, Allen, and Nickolene Gries; her brother, Douglas and his wife, Dawn; and nine nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit from 10 a.m. until services celebrating her life begin at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home, 2345 S. Custer Road, Monroe, MI 48161. Fr. Rade Obsenica will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
All are welcome to attend and share their memories.
