Sharon Lee Kosa
May 22, 1945 – January 14, 2024
Sharon Lee Kosa, age 78, of Monroe, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 14, 2024, surrounded by her family at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.
Born May 22, 1945 in Detroit, MI., she was the daughter of the late Harvey and June (Green) Hinkle. Sharon began her high school education at Redford Union High School. Her education was important to her, so she went on to later receive her diploma from Airport High School in Carleton, around the age of 40. In 1963, Sharon married David Kosa and together they raised their family.
Although Sharon had a couple of jobs at green houses, she took the most pride in being a wife and mother. Her family always came first. Sharon was a kind and gentle woman, often described by others as the sweetest person they knew. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, painting, and going to casinos. Sharon had a soft spot for animals and often donated to the humane society and to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. She will be truly missed by all that knew her.
To cherish her memory, Sharon leaves her husband, David Kosa, five children: Tammy (Brian) Cornell, Linda (Mick) Smith, Julie Rushlow, Jeff Laish and Leslie Kosa, a sister, Jackie (Al) Brennan; two brothers: Rich Hinkle and Jim Coe and eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Cindy Hinkle and her beloved cat, “Rainey”
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services. Cremation has taken place.
