Scarlette “Scottie” Hartman
June 10, 1941 – November 11, 2025
Scottie Hartman, age 84 of Brooklyn, Michigan, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, November 11, 2025
Born June 10, 1941 in Highland Park, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Tolbert and Jessie (Treas) Moore. Scottie was raised in Detroit, Michigan along with her siblings. She attended Cody High School and graduated with the class of 1959.
Scottie went on to marry Robert Hartman on March 17, 1970, and together they had four children. Scottie and Bob spent 47 wonderful years together before his passing.
Scottie fulfilled her retirement dream by building a home and moving to Brooklyn. The home on the lake was a gathering place for the family and special “camp” for the grandchildren. The memories made there will be treasured forever.
In her spare time Scottie loved to travel, golf, play cards and ma-jong. She had a talent and passion for crafting, especially card making, and her time spent with her friends and family meant the world to her. She will always be remembered for her individuality, courage and strength.
To cherish her memory, she leaves four children: Judy (Roy) Winn, Kelley Kennaw, Tony (Cathy) Hartman and Terry (Brad) Crawford; nine grandchildren: Tony Hartman Jr., Neil (Annie) Hawley, Gary (Natalie) Kennaw, Kevin (Dory) Hartman, Corey Kennaw, Angie Brewer, Jeff (Raquel) Winn, William (Julie) Hawley and Steven (Marina) Winn; siblings, Terry (Pat) Moore and Karen (Mike) Tiller and eight great grandchildren.
Scottie is preceded in death by her parents Tolbert and Jessie Moore and her husband, Robert Hartman and a very special son in law, Gary Kennaw.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Hospice of Lenawee and all her dear friends and family for their support and encouragement.
In honoring her wishes, private family service will take place at a later date.
