Sandra Jean Small, age 77 of Newport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at home.

Born May 5, 1948 in Stockbridge, MI. Sandra was the daughter of the late James and Bertha (Coleman) Hodge.

After school, Sandra met and married the love of her life, Myrle Small Sr., in 1966 in Monroe. They raised their family and spent over 39 and a half years together before Myrle sadly passed away in 2005.

Sandra first worked at Meiring Greenhouse and Farms as a Head Grower for many years, she was known for beautiful flowers she bloomed. She then worked for Huron School District in New Boston as first a School Bus Driver then transitioned into the school Custodian before retiring.

In her free time, she enjoyed watching Hallmark Movies and playing the lottery. Sandra absolutely loved her dog Bella, her companion who was always by her side. She will be remembered for her big heart and kind personality. Sandra will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Beloved mother of Myrle (Kristen) Small II, Myrna (Al) LeClaire, Sue (Ralph) Hoy, and Norman Small. Loving grandmother of many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dear sister of Bertha Small.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by grandchildren: Chelsea Small and Matthew Miracle; one brother; five sisters; and daughter-in-law: Lori Small.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home from 1:00 pm, until the time of service starting at 4:00 pm. Officiating is Pastor Todd Bush. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will conclude services.
