August 7, 1952 – January 19, 2022

Rosanne “Rose” Mary Stutsman, age 69 of Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly of Monroe, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at the Shorepoint Health Hospital.

Born August 7, 1952, in Taylor, Michigan. She was the daughter of the late Raymond Fritz and Laurine (Longhurst) McGowan. Rose attended St. Mary Academy High School. Rose spent most of her life as a Monroe resident.

Rose met and married the love of her life: Larry Stutsman in October of 1977. They raised their family and spent over 44 wonderful years together. They were also members of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Rose worked at Tenneco Monroe Auto Equipment for many years before retiring. After she and Larry retired, they moved to Port Charlotte, Florida to enjoy the warm weather five years ago. Rose loved swimming in her pool, picking fruit from her fruit trees, and watching the wildlife in the canal behind her house.

Rose was an avid animal lover to all animals especially her dog: Gabby. She even adopted the local gator in her canal, naming him - Gerty. She would watch Gerty come for food daily.

Most importantly, she absolutely loved her family more than anything. Taking trips to the zoo or just cutting loose for some fun at the casino. Rose will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of her loved ones.

Beloved wife of Larry Stutsman. Loving mother of Randy (Tawnia) Arnold and Timothy (Jamie) Stutsman. Stepmother of Jodie (Shawn) Barker, Lori (Larry) Bussell, and Michael Stutsman. Dearest Gigi of Nicholas Arnold, Luke Arnold, Brandon Arnold, Josh Stutsman, and Rafe Stutsman. Dear sister of Raymond (Jan) Fritz, Andrea “Candy” (Art) Hinojosa, and Shaun (Sheila) McGowan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by stepfather: Charles McGowan; sisters: Laurae Fritz and Ann Marie Fritz; and a nephew: Christopher Fritz.

Everyone is invited to a visitation on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Rupp Funeral Home from 1:00 to 8:00 pm, with a rosary service at 7:00 pm by Deacon Mike Stewart. A funeral mass will be on Friday, January 28, 2022, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Rose will lie instate at 10 am with mass starting at 11 am. Officiating is Fr. David Burgard. Burial will follow to St. Joseph Cemetery.
