Ronald Shere Obituary

Ronald F. Shere

February 2, 1953 - November 15, 2021

Ronald Franklin Shere, age 68 of LaSalle, passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side on Monday, November 15, 2021.

Born February 2, 1953, in Welch, Oklahoma. He was the son of Laura (Emmertt) Mills and the late Harold Shere. After high school, Ron proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1971 to 1974. He was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. He was awarded with being a Sharpshooter (Rifle), National Defense Service Medal, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.

After being honorably discharged, he fell head over heels with love at first sight when he met: Brenda Lee McKnight. They got married on November 9, 1974, in Alexandria, Virginia. In 1979, they moved to the Monroe County area. Together they enjoyed going boating, shoot pool, and traveling across the county in their RV. They loved going to many places like Arizona, North Carolina, and Orlando, Florida. They spent over 47 wonderful years together.

Ron worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years before retiring. In his free time, Ron liked to go golfing and work on computer projects with his stepdad: Dave Mills. Ron will be known for his bluest of eyes that everyone always took note of. He was always friendly and helpful. One could always count on him. Ron will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of his loved ones.

Beloved husband of Brenda Lee Shere. Loving son of Laura (Dave) Mills. Dearest brother of Brian Mills, Davey Mills, Ricky Shere, and Randy Shere. Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. Great uncle of Ema Carter-Sallah. Brother-in-law of Deborah Wullenwaber and James Lee. Also survived by his best friend & brother: Tayo Salazar.

Ron was preceded in death by his father: Harold Shere, grandparents, and siblings: Sue and Jim Shere.

In accordance with Ron's wishes, cremation has taken place with no services at this time. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Rupp Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent to www.ruppfuneralhomeinc.com
