Robert "Mike" Turner

Robert Michael "Mike" Turner, born on December 23, 1954, in Monroe, Michigan, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, at the age of 70, at ProMedica Toledo Hospital.

Mike was a dedicated and hardworking individual who spent over 37 years as a warehouse foreman at Amendt Milling Company in Monroe, where he was known for his commitment to excellence and his strong work ethic.

A proud graduate of Monroe High School, class of 1972, Mike cherished the simple pleasures of life, finding solace and connection to God in nature. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed the nostalgic allure of Old Westerns, especially those featuring John Wayne. His Friday evening date nights with his beloved wife, Sheila, at Red Lobster were treasured moments that highlighted his devotion to family.

Preceded in death by his parents, Robert M. "Mitch" and Julia (Bressler) Turner; his wife, Sheila (Evans) Turner, who passed on October 1, 2018; and his brother, Charlie Turner.

Mike leaves behind a legacy of love and family. He is survived by his daughters, Leslie (Charles Kolenda) Turner, and Kristina (Patrick) O'Connell, both residing in Monroe. His six grandchildren: Isaac Bugert, Ryleigh Bugert, Lucas Bugert, Gavin Turner, Michaela O'Connell, and Aiden O'Connell. He is also survived by his three brothers: Benjamin (Norma) Turner, Jeffrey (Melissa) Turner, and John (Rhonda) Turner, all of Monroe; and four sisters: Alice "Kate" Dorff of Dayton, Ohio, Sandra Falls of Shalimar, Florida, Kimberly (Robert) Krimm of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and Michelle Turner-Jennings of Monroe, as well as many nieces and nephews.  

Mike's presence will be dearly missed by his family and friends, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored deeply.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home, 2345 S. Custer Road, Monroe, MI 48161. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 22, 2025, also at Rupp Funeral Home, with interment following at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe.

In this time of mourning, we remember Mike for his unwavering love, his dedication to family, and the joy he found in life's simple pleasures. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
