Robert William Lemieux, Sr., age 91 of Dundee passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.

Born February 28, 1932 in Detroit, Robert was the son of the late Eugene and Edna Lemieux. After high school, Robert proudly served in the United States Air Force for eight years. After the service, Robert went on to work as an electrical foreman at Great Lakes Steel, where he retired from.

Robert married the love of his life, Edith Parker on July 4, 1953 in Sacramento, California on the Air Force Base. Together they spent a wonderful 70 years together, raising four children.

To cherish in his memory, Robert leaves behind his wife; four children, Robert (Barbara) Lemieux, Jr., James (Jacqueline) Lemieux, Joan Cady, and Mary (John) Niemann; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Eugene and Henry Lemieux.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Robert’s life will be held, Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Divine Grace Parish in Carleton at 10 am. A memorial mass will begin at 11 am with Rev. Dr. Michael Woroniewicz officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Robert’s honor may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society, Disabled American Veterans, or a charity of your choice.
