Robert Lee Kemp, age 69 of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly the morning of Thursday January 13, 2022 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.

Robert was born October 4, 1952 in Monroe, MI to the late Frederick and Charlotte (Elliott) Kemp. He attended Airport High School and was an extremely active member of the Drama Club during his time there. Robert farmed until approximately 2000 and then moved to Monroe where he worked odd jobs through mental health.

In his spare time, Robert loved to play pool. You could usually find him in the social room at Marion Place playing pool and watching TV with his friends. Robert was also an animal lover, particularly his cat, Miss Kitty.

To cherish his memory, Robert leaves his sister, Nancy Michaels; niece, Brenda Lewis; niece Susan Kemp; nephew Eric Kemp; and sister-in-law, Wilma Kemp.

Along with his parents, Robert is also preceded in death by his brother, Frederick, and his nephew, Allen Scott Michaels.

Family and friends may visit from 1130am-2pm on Tuesday January 18, 2022 at Rupp Funeral Home, where a service will be held at the conclusion of visitation at 2pm. Rev. Cathy Maxwell from Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at Riverside Cemetery, South Rockwood.
