    Robert “Bob” Giebel

January 18, 1939 – April 2, 2023

Robert “Bob” Giebel Sr., age 84, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at Toledo ProMedica Hospital.

Robert was born on January 18, 1939 in Monroe to the late Ernest and Helen Giebel. Bob was a 1956 graduate of Monroe High School. He would go on to meet and marry the love of his life Dorothy Heck on June 29, 1957 in Monroe. Together they raised two children. Bob and Dorothy enjoyed over 65wonderful years together.   

Robert was a hard-working man. He had more than one long and lasting career. He managed the A&P supermarket for more than 25 years. He owned and operated Arnies Party Store and worked for more than 15 years as a maintenance man for the Ida public school district.

Bob was hardworking, friendly and an outgoing man. He loved to stay busy and always helped others. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, going to flea markets and auctions. He loved watching Tigers baseball and Michigan football.

To cherish his memory, Bob leaves his loving wife Dorothy, two children: Robert (Connie) Giebel, Tami Harrison and three grandchildren; Joshua and Zachary Gieble and Kristin Gold; and a sister-in-law, Verdell Giebel. Bob is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bud Giebel.

Family and Friends may visit on Wednesday April 5, 2023 from 4-8 pm at Rupp Funeral Home. A funeral service in his honor will take place at the funeral home on Thursday April 6, 2023 at 11 am with Rev. Kim Semran officiating. He will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to First Baptist Church in Monroe.
