Robert B. Burris

Robert Bruce Burris, age 66 of Monroe, passed away Saturday August 12, 2023.                                                  

Robert was born to Maudine (Doss) Edwards and the Late Albert Burris, on February 13, in Benton Harbor, MI. Robert was married for over 20 years to the late Judy (Sapp) Burris.

Robert was known as being a hard worker that could fix just about any problem you might have with your car (often referred to as Mr. Fix It). He enjoyed Fishing, and his crossword scratchers. Robert found peace in music, two of his favorite groups were The Escorts and War. Robert lived a wild life on his terms and loved meeting new people.

Robert is survived by Sons; Robert “Cortez” Tucker, Brandon Thorton, Robert “Demetrius” Burris, and Jailen Burris, daughter, Elesheia Thorton and Zyona Burris, brothers, George and Jimmy Burris, sisters; MaryAlice Adams, Violet Edgard, Josephine Doss/Burris and Peggy Sue , close friends Aaron and Bill as well as 13 grandchildren.

The family will be having a celebration of life memorial at the Rupp Funeral Home at 5:30pm on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. The Rupp family is honored to be assisting the family of Robert B. Burris in their time of need.
