Richard A. Leason

August 2, 1936 – May 21, 2023

 

Richard “Dick” Allen Leason, age 86 of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at his home.

 

Born August 2, 1936 in Toledo, Ohio. He was the son of the late Charles and Rachel (Bevelhymer) Leason. Dick graduated from Monroe High School in 1954. Following school, he proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1954. He was stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas until he was honorably discharged in 1957. He then went into the United States Marine Corp Reserves until 1962.

 

Dick worked for Ford Motor Company for over 40 years before retiring. In his free time, Dick loved being outdoors in nature. He was an avid trap and skeet shooter. Dick liked to go hunting and has many deer and duck mounts all over the house. Back in the day, he owned black labs for sport but as well as being his four-legged companion by his side. He was a member of the Canvas Back Gun Club, Duck’s Unlimited, the Monroe Rod and Gun Club plus other various organizations that he was a part of.

 

Dick enjoyed watching and participating in car racing. He would bond over this love with his friends Steve and Julie Bunge and would go over to their place to watch the race. He was also known for his lawn looking immaculate and always kept it in shape.

 

Beloved uncle of William Leason, Anne Chrissinger, Julie Leason, and Barbara Jones. Great uncle of Amanda McWilliams, Christine Morrison, Brian Boots, Nichole Maturo, Austin Maturo, Daniel Leason, and Michael Leason.

 

In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by brother: Charles Leason; nephew: Daniel Leason, and four legged companions: Cinder and Babe.
