Ray D. Fleeman

Ray Donald Fleeman, age 75 of Newport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2026, under hospice care.

Born July 5, 1950, in Monroe. Ray was one of four children of the late Dewey and Ada (LaSage) Fleeman. He graduated from Airport High School. He was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He proudly served from 68’ to 70’ working in Radio Communications. 

Ray then met and married the love of his life, Linda Flatford, on March 17, 1970.  They shared their love of animals together and had many cats and dogs over the years that they called their babies. They spent over 51 wonderful years together before Linda sadly passed away in 2021.

Ray worked for Ford Motor Company at the Monroe Plant. He was a Machine Operator for over 30 years before retiring. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Organization. In his free time, he enjoyed going fishing with his brother, playing games, dancing, and watching NASCAR races. Ray was a big Elvis fan and loved his music. He will be remembered for his kind heart and would go out of his way to do anything for you. He will be deeply missed. 

To cherish his memory, Ray leaves his siblings, Dennis Fleeman, Donna Oiler, and Annette (Dennis) Chapman, as well as sister-in-law, Gwen Raymond. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Fleeman.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Rupp Funeral Home, from 9:30 am until the time of service at 11:30 am. Officiating is Pastor Roy Southerland. Burial will follow to Oak Ridge Cemetery in Flat Rock. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Ray are suggested to the Monroe Michigan Humane Society.
