Polly Ann Rupp
September 19, 1963 – August 2, 2025
Polly Ann Rupp, age 61 of Newport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 2, 2025, surrounded by family at her home, after a short, courageous battle with cancer. She was strong and fought a hard fight. Heaven gained a beautiful soul.
Polly was born on September 19, 1963, in Monroe. She is the daughter of Donna J. (Cousino) and the late William E. Rupp, Sr. Polly graduated from Monroe High School in 1981. She went on to attend Central Michigan University and would later continue her education at Monroe County Community College. Polly received her cosmetology license and shared her knowledge through teaching at the Michigan College of Beauty for four years. She recently retired her license after forty-plus years.
Polly worked for the People's Federal Savings Bank as a teller for several years. She also worked for a doctor’s office as an assistant. Ultimately, she returned to carry on her father’s legacy at Rupp Funeral Home where she served as Business Manager, overseeing daily operations with grace and dedication. Her absence will be deeply felt by her colleagues, whom she treated as family.
Almost twenty-nine years ago, Polly’s life was forever changed when she gave birth to her daughter. Chelsea was her entire world, and there wasn’t anything Polly wouldn’t do for her. They had a very special bond. She fully supported Chelsea’s passion for horses. Polly was always there to drive her to any show across the country, cheer her on during the competitions, and was a proud “Horseshow Mom”. In 2022, her home became the new location for the Stepping Stones Therapeutic Riding, a program to enhance the lives of the disabled through horseback riding. She became the President, while Chelsea was the Certified Instructor. She is now and forever will be Chelsea’s Guardian Angel, watching over her every time she enters the show arena.
Polly was the sweetest and kindest person. She was such a joy to be around with her silly sense of humor and fun personality. Her big, dimpled smile could light up a room, and she could make anyone laugh. She was a wonderful and beautiful person inside and out.
Polly was the most incredible mother and later grandmother to Charleigh, whom she affectionately referred to as “Her Little Love Bug.” She had a big heart and loved her family and friends. She was so special to many people whose lives she touched in so many ways. Polly will be deeply missed and cherished forever in our hearts.
To cherish her memory, Polly leaves her beloved daughter, Chelsea (Norman) Seegert; loving granddaughter, Charleigh Rose Seegert; dearest mother, Donna Rupp; brothers, Gregory (Beth) Rupp, Jeffrey (Marlena) Rupp, and Bryan Rupp; and several nieces and nephews.
Polly was preceded in death by her father, William Rupp, Sr., and her brother, William Rupp, Jr.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. A remembrance service will start at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, with Rev. Larry Detruf and Terry Crawford officiating. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the Sisters, Servants of Immaculate Heart of Mary (I.H.M.)
