Patricia E. Whited
March 16, 1946 – June 16, 2021
Patricia Ellen Whited, age 75 of Ida, passed away June 16, 2021, at home surrounded by her daughters.
Patricia was born on March 16, 1946, in Detroit. She was one of three children to the late Spurlin and Ellen (Payne) Young. Patricia graduated from Lincoln Park High School in 1964. After graduating from high school, Patricia attended and received a cosmetologist license from Virginia Farrell School of Cosmetology of Lincoln Park. Patricia married the love of her life, Marvin E. Whited, Jr., on July 3, 1965 in Allen Park, Michigan. They went on to spend over 48 wonderful years together before Marvin’s passing in 2013.
After raising three children, Patricia made her living at Mercy Memorial Hospital here in Monroe from 1984 to 2004. She worked there in X-ray transportation and then later at the front desk as communication and security. Patricia retired after 20 years of working.
In her free time, Patricia enjoyed playing bunco, going clothes shopping, and going to the casino. She loved spending time with family, friends, and her neighbors. Most importantly, Patricia loved being with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
To cherish her memory, Patricia leaves two daughters: Deborah A. (1 SGT-RET Rick) Bomia and Amy C. (Michael) Kanitz; eight grandchildren: Meagan (Brad) Mervyn of Kansas, Amanda (Frank) Barnes of Kansas, Chelsea Luffman of Kansas, Emerald Hacker of Kansas, Calvin Whited of Kansas, SGT Sierra Bomia of Kansas, Brody Kanitz of Ida, and Briley Kanitz of Ida; ten great-grandchildren: Wyatt Remberg, Jacklynn Hacker, Lincoln Barnes, Harlow Luffman, Audrey Bomia, Silas Barnes, Arlen Luffman, Nora Hacker, Gwendolyn Mervyn, and Denver Norton; and siblings: Judith Brisbois of Florida and Michael Young of Monroe.
Along with her husband and parents, Patricia is preceded in death by her son, Timothy P. Whited.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Rupp Funeral Home from 1:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will take place on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Rupp Funeral Home starting at 1:00 pm. Officiating is Pastor Kerr. Burial will immediately follow to St. Joseph Cemetery in Ida. Everyone will be invited to a luncheon following the burial. Location to be announced at the cemetery.
