Patricia A. Cooley
July 16, 1944 – April 27, 2021
Patricia Ann Cooley, age 76 of Dundee, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at the Hampton Manor Assisted Living facility.
Born July 16, 1944 in Monroe. Patricia was the daughter of Donald and Dorothy (Mentel) St. Bernard. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1961. She continued her education at Eastern Michigan University to achieve her bachelor’s degree in elementary education and her master’s degree in art.
After having her kids, she went to The University of Toledo and achieved her Juris Doctorate in 1986.
Patricia started her own law firm in Monroe called Patricia A. Cooley Attorney at Law in Monroe. She was there for over 30 years helping the community. Patricia put an extraordinary amount of love into helping foster children. She also taught Law at Monroe County Community College.
Patricia was a member at St. Michael Catholic Church of Monroe. She also was a member of the American Bar Association. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling with her friends. She treasured her home in Dundee; she liked to plant her flowers and watch the animals outside her window. Most importantly, Patricia liked spending her quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed and cherished in the hearts of her loved ones.
Beloved mother of Bob (Kristen) Cooley, Theresa Brown, Bonnie (Andrew) Risveglia, Susan (Steve Delagrange) Cooley, and Elizabeth Bressler. Loving grandmother of Robert Cooley, Liana Cooley, Caroline Cooley, Spencer Brown, Parker Brown, Charleston Brown, Marissa Risveglia, AJ Bressler, and Addison Bressler. Dearest sister of Carol Thompson.
In addition to her parents, Patricia is preceded in death by an infant granddaughter: Samantha Brown.
Everyone is invited to a visitation on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Rupp Funeral Home from 1:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, May 3, 2021 at St. Michael Catholic Church of Monroe. Patricia will lie in-state at 10 am with the funeral mass starting at 11 am. Officiating is Fr. Kishore Babu Battu. Burial will follow immediately to St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, any wishing to make a memorial donation in Patricia’s honor is suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
