Oscar Wilson Obituary

Oscar W. Wilson
December 31, 1947-April 5, 2022

Oscar W. Wilson, age 74 of Monroe, passed away the morning of Tuesday April 5, 2022 in his home.

Oscar was born December 31, 1947 in LaFollette, TN to the late Ralph and Lorraine Wilson. Oscar worked various jobs throughout his life, including janitorial work at the hospital and most recently at Taco Bell. In his spare time, Oscar loved searching for hidden treasures at garage sales, watching and collecting old Western shows and items (especially John Wayne), painting ceramics, and watching NASCAR (his favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt, Jr.). He was an avid history buff who could remember many facts, and loved anything to do with the Presidents of the US. He won several medals in Special Olympics, and loved to participate.

To cherish his memory, Oscar leaves his sister, Chris Goans; Dave; nieces, Regina, Stacey, Angie and Kristie; nephew, Gerry; special aunt Rena; several great nieces and nephews; his roommates and his favorite dog, Mosby. A special thanks to the staff of MRO for taking excellent care of Oscar.

Along with his parents, Oscar is also preceded in death by his brother, Mike Wilson, and sister-in-law, Candy Wilson.

A private family service was held and Oscar was laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution in Oscar’s honor are asked to please consider the Michigan Special Olympics.
