Norman Francis Bert
February 24, 1929 – April 8, 2021
Norman Francis Bert, age 92 of Monroe, passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at ProMedica Flower Hospital in Sylvania, OH.
Born February 24, 1929 in York, Pennsylvania. He was one of six children of the late Leslie and Ruth (Fish) Bert. Norman graduated from Monroe High School in 1947. He went on to work for Gruber Food Market and Seaway Foodtown for 45 years. Norman married the love of his life, Beverly Curley, on November 6, 1948 in LaSalle. They raised a family of four children and spent over 60 wonderful years together before Beverly’s passing in 2010.
In his free time, Norman obtained a private piolet license and truly enjoyed flying his Cessna. Following his retirement, Norman and Beverly moved to warmer weather in Palmetto, Florida. After several years and missing their grandchildren, they moved back to Monroe.
To cherish his memory, Norman leaves his children: Roger (Deborah) Bert, Linda (Robert) Rousselo, and Wendy Bert; grandchildren: Joseph Bert, Jeffery Bert, Nicole Dufour, Andrew Rousselo, and Steven Rousselo; eight great-grandchildren; and brothers: Daniel Bert and Dennis Bert.
Along with his parents and wife, Norman is preceded in death by his son, Steven B. Bert; brothers: William Bert, Floyd Bert, and John Bert; granddaughter, Brandy Bayer; and grandson, Roger N. Bert, II.
A private visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, for family only.
