Nina Margaret Kirkaldy

Nina M. Kirkaldy, 82 of Monroe, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021, at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehab.

Born March 31, 1939, in Windsor, Canada, Nina was one of two daughters of the late Douglas and Aline (Parent) Kirkaldy. Nina joined the United States Army serving as a Captain for six years. She received her bachelor’s degree in music.

After retiring, Nina worked as a music teacher for Cantrick Schools. In her spare time, she enjoyed going up north to the Upper Peninsula, playing piano, drawing, and painting. Nina was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and St. Anne Catholic Church.

Nina leaves behind her lifelong friends, Maureen Romanowski, Mary McMullen, Kari McMullen, Madeline Ferdin, and Benjamin Ferdin, who she considered all family.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister.

Family and friends may visit Saturday, November 20, 2021, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Nina will lie instate at 10am till the funeral mass beginning at 11am. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery.
