Nancy Quisenberry Obituary

Nancy J. Quisenberry
July 19, 1938 – July 8, 2023

Nancy June Quisenberry, age 84 of Monroe, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at her home under hospice care.

Born Nancy J. Bennett on July 19, 1938, in Monroe. She was the daughter of the late Robert and June Hammond. Nancy graduated from Redford High School in 1957. She continued her education at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI.

Nancy would go on to meet the love of her life: Charles “Pete” Quisenberry in college. They were married on August 29, 1959 at a Methodist Church in Redford, MI. She was a loving homemaker to her husband and three children growing up. They spent over 63 wonderful years together.

In her younger years, Nancy enjoyed riding horses that they kept on the farm. She was a long-time volunteer at the Monroe Thrift Shop for many years. Nancy was an avid reader and loved reading mystery novels. She also enjoyed swimming and in her pass time, loved being outside floating while reading a nice book.

Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family. For the past six months, her grandchildren: Matt and Samantha were her angels on earth and were her daily caretakers. Nancy will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of her loved ones.

Beloved wife of Pete Quisenberry. Loving mother of Jeff (Susan) Quisenberry, Jody (Eric) Czarniowski, and Steven (Sonya) Quisenberry. Dearest grandmother of Amanda (Scott) Bauerschmidt, Laura Weiss, Josh Quisenberry, Jessica (Tyler) Pickell, Jenna Quisenberry, Matthew (Samantha) Quisenberry, Morgan Quisenberry, Melissa (Daniel) Murray, Chris Meyers, Michelle Meyers, and David Meyers. Great grandmother of several great grandchildren. Dear sister of Alan (Kathie) Hammond and Jan (Kirk) Stevens.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents: Robert and June Hammond.

In accordance with her wishes, a small private viewing and service will take place. Officiating is Pastor Rick Massingill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her honor are suggested to the Monroe Humane Society.
