Nancy J. Neal, age 84, of Monroe, went home to be with the Lord on the evening of May 18, 2024.

Nancy was born on May 14, 1940, to the late Hugie and Trula (Jennings) Johnson in Tazewell, Tennessee. She was one of 11 children. Nancy’s parents moved to Michigan in 1947 to call Monroe their new home. She attended Monroe Public Schools.

Later, Nancy met the love of her life, David Neal. On December 29, 1993, the two got married in Search Light, Nevada. She had 2 children: David (Jodie) Bean and Tonya (Dennis) Johnson. Nancy also had 4 beloved stepchildren; Deborah (Paul) Miller, David Neal Jr., Danny Neal, and Darlene Folmer, who sadly preceded her in death.

Nancy worked as a homemaker and valued taking care of her children. In her free time, Nancy and David loved to travel. In addition, she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary clubs of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Fraternal Order of Eagles. Her and David attended Monroe Alliance Church.

She was a kind mother and grandmother. She was described as affectionate and loving. Nancy absolutely adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.

To cherish her memory, she leaves behind her husband, David, 2 children, and 3 stepchildren.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by 6 brothers, 4 sisters and 1 stepdaughter, Darlene Folmer.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted to Rupp Funeral Home. No services will be taking place.
