Myron Lewis Eads
April 12, 1942 – December 28, 2023
Myron Lewis Eads, age 81 of Carleton, formerly of Monroe, MI, passed away at 7:26 a.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at MediLodge of Monroe.
Born April 12, 1942 in Middlesboro, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Wheeler Roy and Lora Violet (Eads) Eads. Myron married the love of his life, Carmella Marie Volpi, on February 16, 1962. The two were married for sixty years until Carmella’s passing in 2022. After marrying in 1962, Myron and Carmella went on to raise three children: Lora (Rick) McNeil, Beth (Tracy) Harvell, and Myron (Karista) Eads Jr. He worked for Asplungh Tree Service, Nelson Tree Service and was a Lineman for Detroit Edison, retiring from IBEW Local 17 in 2004. When his children had grown and he and Carmella had retired, the two moved to Rose City, Michigan, where Myron was a member of Northwoods Baptist Church.
Myron was a caring and loving husband, father and grandfather. Known to all of his grandchildren as Papaw. He looked forward to hosting his yearly pig roast/family reunion. He was a master at making clocks and woodworking. Myron enjoyed hunting and snowmobiling. Myron loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and his beloved dog Lacey.
He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen (Eads) Knabusch, and a grandson, Richard A. (Chopper) McNeil Jr.
Family and friends may visit Thursday, January 4, 2024, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Rupp Funeral Home, 2345 South Custer Road, Monroe, MI 48161, where services celebrating his life will begin at 2 p.m. Rev. B.J. McDaniels will officiate. He will be laid to rest next to his loving wife Carmella at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, LaSalle, immediately following services.
