Myrna Jean Watkins, age 83, a lifelong resident of Monroe, MI, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.

Born May 8, 1941 in Monroe, MI. Myrna was the daughter of the late Jacob and Johnnie Mae (Farmer) Watkins. She attended Monroe Public Schools.

Myrna was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, playing Bingo, and talking on the phone. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. Myrna also worked as a caregiver and personal assistant to the Fairchild Family for many years. She will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of her loved ones.

Myrna is survived by two sons: Steven Derrick Watkins of Atlanta, GA and Tony (Sherita) Watkins of Monroe; six grandchildren: Jordan Christopher Watkins, Anastasia Marie Watkins, John Anothony (Kelly Cuykendall) Watkins, Darion Antonio (Desiree) Branham, Destiny Marie (Tyvonna Fisher) Branham, and Jazmyn Jean Watkins; 10 great grandchildren: Ariah, Mariyah, Emilyah, Trenton, Trinity, Jayden, Jayken, Beckam, Arthur, and AJ; two brothers: Ronald (Denise) Watkins and Charles (Dannielle) Watkins; four nephews; six nieces; and many great nephews and nieces as well as long life friend: Annie Nell Toles.

In addition to her parents, Myrna was preceded in death by brother: Robert “Bobby” Watkins; and sister: Ruth Richardson.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home (2345 S. Custer Road, Monroe, MI, 48161) from 11:00 to 2:00 pm. A funeral service will follow starting at 2:00 pm. Officiating is Dr. Robert Watkins. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place after services.
